How AudiobookPilot scores an audiobook
A high commission never creates a high score. Credit efficiency and retailer links are deliberately separate systems.
The four components
Listening quantity
A logarithmic runtime calculation rewards substantial listening without letting extremely long books overwhelm every other signal.
Production signals
Author narration and multi-narrator productions are recognized as observable audio-edition features, not assumed quality ratings.
Metadata completeness
Every included edition must have a unique ASIN, title, author, narrator, English language, and a runtime of at least one hour.
Buying utility
Short books receive a cash-price reminder; long books receive a time-commitment warning; series and edition details are flagged for confirmation.
What is not part of the score
- Affiliate commission rate or bounty amount.
- Whether a retailer has approved our application.
- A paid placement or free review copy.
- The number of outbound clicks a book produces.
- A publisher's preferred marketing language.
How commercial links are ordered
Retailer options are a separate recommendation layer. Their order may consider subscription preference, new-user eligibility, cash-price logic, country, existing ecosystem, and stated user priorities. This does not change the underlying book score.
Corrections and updates
Book metadata, availability, and platform terms can change. Material corrections should be timestamped. A future contact channel will allow authors, publishers, retailers, and readers to submit evidence without purchasing preferential treatment.
